CGES REPRESENTATIVES TOOK PART IN EXPO 2020

 

Recognizing the importance and role of one of the most prestigious events in the world for the promotion of the state and its potentials, Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem in cooperation with the Ministry of Capital Investments and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore took part in the EXPO - "Dubai 2020", under the slogan "Green Energy Transition" in Montenegro".

State Secretary for Energy and Mining, Marko Perunović, addressed the audience, saying, inter alia, that Montenegro is a country of enormous energy potential, with many sunny days, averaging more than 240 a year, making it ideal for Solar projects, respectable opportunities for the valorization of wind energy resources and development of renewable energy sources. Welcoming the guests and participants, the Chairman of CGES Board of Directors, Aleksandar Mijušković, pointed out that apart from the natural beauties making our small country special and beautiful, we can boast of numerous potentials, especially when it comes to the energy sector.

"Thinking that a country's power sector must not be closed and trapped between potentials and constraints and that connecting with the region and building energy bridges is the future, I would like to stress that our efforts are focused on creating an international company aimed at implementing capital projects. We have succeeded in that "I will remind you that the impetus to the development of the transmission grid has been given by the Montenegro - Italy interconnection put into operation in late 2019. The Submarine cable between Montenegro and Italy along with the Trans-Balkan Corridor is the backbone of connecting transmission systems of the Balkans and Italy, underlined Mr. Mijuškovič, adding that the Montenegrin transmission internal and cross-border network development and strengthening activities, as well as the activities on reconstruction and improvement of operational capabilities of facilities operated by CGES are underway. The transmission system is ready for planned investments and new challenges in the coming period, confirmed the CGES Executive Director,Ivan Asanović.

"First of all, we are working on the transmission grid projects for the SPP 'Briska Gora' and WPP 'Gvozd', while when it comes to the " Brezna"substation which will be the main connection for HPP 'Komarnica',  key investments are expected,"  said Mr. Asanović.

The presentations were given by the representatives of the Elektroprivreda Crne Gore - Ivan Mrvaljević, who presented investment and development projects in solar, wind, and hydro energy, as well as by Bojan Đordan.

Potential investors had the opportunity to learn more about investment and development projects in the Montenegrin energy sector at bilateral and multilateral meetings held with members of our team.
