The Agreement on purchase of constructed electric power infrastructure for connecting the wind power plant Krnovo to Montenegro’s transmission grid was signed today between Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem AD and the investor, Krnovo Green Energy d.o.o. The signed Agreement is in line with the Montenegrin Energy Law, as well as the investment and development plans and as such approved by the Energy Regulatory Agency of Montenegro.
The Investor Krnovo Green Energy d.o.o has built within the wind power plant complex SS 110/35 kV Brezna, 110 kV overhead transmission line from SS Brezna to point of connection with the existing 110 kV OHTL Kličevo (Nikšić) – Brezna, as well as 2x110 kV overhead transmission line from SS Krnovo to SS Brezna, which CGES, as the Transmission System Operator of Montenegro, took over in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Energy Law. It is important to note that the 2x110 kV overhead transmission line between SS Krnovo and SS Brezna will be a subject of a separate agreement and handed over to CGES with no compensation fees.
The infrastructure, secured through today’s Agreement, is the integral part of the “Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor (I) - Grid Section in Montenegro” project, financed through the Western Balkan Investment Framework (WBIF) grant and recognised as a Project of Energy Community Interest.
In addition to enhancing the capacity and stability of Montenegro's transmission system as one of the key preconditions for further development of the country and attracting future investments, this acquisition will contribute to further development in the construction of renewable energy plants, reduced emissions with greenhouse gas effect, as well as greater energy independence.
