CONSIDERABLY IMPROVED ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE

CGES’ Executive Director Dragan Kujović and his closest associates, together with the Vice President of the Municipality of Nikšić Dragan Perović, visited works on the route of 400 kV overhead line “Lastva-Čevo-Pljevlja“ in the Local Community Trubjela, where local roads are filled.

As the overhead line route partly passes through the Municipality of Nikšić also, CGES’ representatives spoke with Mr Perović about projects that are implemented in the city under the Bedem Fortress.

On this occasion, Mr Kujović underlined that CGES, in parallel with works on the installation of overhead lines, also takes care to preserve and improve roads in the village area where the route passes.

“We require from our contractors that all access roads devastated during the construction of such overhead lines must be recovered at least to the state that was before the works, endeavouring to improve such state. Roads used for access to tower spots, which did not exist in the past, will be left for use to the local population for their local needs”, Mr Kujović said.

He invited locals to address CGES’ employees if they notice some irregularities or defects.

Works on the overhead line are mainly completed as well as the technical testing of the submarine cable, so Mr Kujović expects that the commercial use starts in about one month.

Over EUR 8 million has been invested in a more quality supply of citizens in the area of the Municipality of Nikšić with electricity, while the infrastructure, primarily roads, has also been improved.

Vice President Perović reminded about the great cooperation with CGES because the supply of citizens in the area of the Municipality of Nikšić with electricity has been considerably improved, as evidenced by the fact that over EUR 8 million has been invested.

“Citizens got a better, safer and more regular electricity supply and the connection with other consumers in Montenegro has also been allowed. Such project costed CGES and Montenegro about EUR 8 million. Another project is important, namely the reconstruction of the overhead line “Nikšić-Bileća“, i.e. its dislocation from the populated area of Dragova Luka”, Mr Perović said.
